Tendulkar to play tsunami appeal match

April 20, 2005 20:09 IST

India's Sachin Tendulkar is to play in a Twenty20 match at The Oval in June for victims of the Asian tsunami, organisers said on Wednesday.

Tendulkar, India's highest run-scorer, will play in an Asia XI alongside team mates Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh.

They take on an International XI that will include Shane Warne, Brian Lara, Shaun Pollock, Heath Streak and Graham Thorpe.

Proceeds from the June 20 match will go largely to rebuilding lives from the tsunami disaster in Sri Lanka.
