Hick blasts into top-10 century makers

April 29, 2005 10:51 IST

Graeme Hick moved ahead of WG Grace and into the top 10 all-time century makers on Thursday as he hit 176 for Worcestershire to record his 127th first-class ton.

The Zimbabwe-born former England batsman smashed eight sixes and 20 fours off 231 balls in a Worcestershire all-out total of 306 against Lancashire.

Hick, 39 next month, is one century behind his former England captain Graham Gooch and two behind Len Hutton.

Englishman Jack Hobbs is the all-time leader with 197 centuries.
