Jadhav hits ton as Maharashtra take lead December 18, 2005 21:34 IST Dhiraj Jadhav hit his eighth Ranji hundred and was also involved in a 117-run partnership with Sairaj Bahutule as Maharashtra took a 32-run lead over Tamil Nadu on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Division Group 'A' match in Nashik on Sunday. At close, Maharashtra were 307 for the loss of 9 wickets in 82.3 overs. Jadhav, who opened the innings with Satyajit Satbhai, scored 100 runs during his 313-minute stay at the crease and hit 13 boundaries before he was caught by S Sharath off Badrinath after tea. Bahutule scored 77, inclusive of 12 fours. He was caught by Hemant Kumar off the bowling of Tamil Kumaran. Earlier, resuming at their overnight total of 254 for seven, Tamil Nadu were all out for 275 in 94.3 overs, all the three wickets were captured by Maharashtra's strike bowler Munaf Patel. Satbhai and Jadhav gave a good start to Maharashtra but captain Hrishikesh Kanitkar went back cheaply. Nashik's Amit Patil scored 31 runs before being stumped by Kartik. Tamil Nadu's fielding was remarkable while their strike bowlers Tamil Kumaran and R Ramkumar took three wickets each. S Badrinath bagged two wickets. Maharashtra, who have no points from their earlier three matches, for the first time in the Ranji season took first innings lead.
