Andhra earn their first points December 20, 2005 21:12 IST Andhra Pradesh bagged two points by virtue of their 99-run first innings lead as their Ranji trophy match against Services ended a tame draw at the Palam ground in New Delhi on Tuesday. Resuming at their overninght score of 347 for eight, Andhra added 48 more runs to their total before they were bowled out for 395. Services had made 296 in their first essay. The hosts were 255 for five in their second innings. Having conceded the crucial lead, there was nothing much for Services to look forward to in the last day and their batsmen used it for batting practice. Yaspal Singh cracked 87 and Jasvir Singh scored his second successive half century in the match, hitting unbeaten 50. The match was called off in the 68th over, immediately after the dismissal of skipper Sarabjit Singh on 11. Andhra earned their first points in the session while Services have yet to open their account.
