Gujarat were placed at a shaky 127 for two after Bengal posted a mammoth first innings score of 462 on the penultimate day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match in Surat on Tuesday.

Bengal skipper Deep Dasgupta top scored with 143, which was studded with 13 fours, before declaring the innings on 462 for nine.

Dasgupta was caught at slip by Niraj Patel off Siddharth Trivedi, who took six for 101.

Dasgupta's overnight partner Sibsagar Singh was trapped leg-before off Trivedi without adding a run to his overnight score of 46 (3x4).
