Duleep Trophy tie shifted to Delhi

February 28, 2005 11:42 IST

The Duleep Trophy league match between Central Zone and Bangladesh, scheduled to be held in Jaipur from March 1, would now be held at the Railways cricket ground in Delhi.

"The decision to shift the match to Delhi was taken some days ago," BCCI Secretary S K Nair said on Sunday.

Although there was no official word on why the match was being shifted to Delhi, it is believed that the wrangling within the Rajasthan Cricket Association was the reason behind the move.

An acrimonious election to the RCA recently saw decades old reign of the Rungtas coming to an end and industrialist Lalit Modi taking over as president of the body.

The other league match of the Duleep Trophy between North and South Zone would be held in Indore.
