India win toss; elect to bat

India captain Sourav Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against Pakistan on Wednesday.

There were two changes in the Pakistan team with opener Salman Butt being dropped in favour of all-rounder Shahid Afridi. The injured Rana Naved-ul-Hasan was replaced by left-arm seamer Mohammad Khalil.

India made the one change in the their playing XI, with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh coming in for left-arm seamer Zaheer Khan.

The first match of the three-Test series in Mohali last week ended in a draw.
