Jeff Crowe match referee for India-SA ODIs

September 09, 2005 17:56 IST

New Zealand's Jeff Crowe has been appointed match referee by the International Cricket Council for the India - South Africa five-match One-Day International series, in India, in November.

ICC's Elite Panel umpire Daryl Harper and a Board of Control for Cricket in India-appointed umpire from the ICC's panel will be the on-field umpires for the matches, to be held from November 16-28.

K Hariharan of Delhi, A V Jayaprakash of Karnataka and I Shivram of Hyderabad are the three Indians on the panel of umpires and would be doing duty during the series.

Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai have been allotted the matches, to be held on November 16, 19, 22, 25 and 28 respectively.

But the full itinerary for the series, specifically the dates and venues corresponding to the five ODIs, are yet to be finalised by the Indian Board.

The series is to be preceded by the seven-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka - from October 25 to November 12.

The Lankans will play their matches on October 25, 28, 31, November 3, 6, 9 and 12. The venues chosen to host the ODIs are Mohali, Nagpur, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Jaipur or Jodhpur, Rajkot and Pune, but not necessarily in this order.

The ICC, however, is yet to declare the referee and umpires' appointments for the India-Lanka series.
