Siddharth Verma earns Haryana the lead January 12, 2006 21:20 IST Haryana gained a 41-run first innings lead over Services in their Elite Group 'B' Ranji Trophy match at the Palam ground in Delhi on Thursday. Thanks to a brave show by the lower order batsmen, Haryana put up 282 in reply to the hosts' first innings total of 241. The 126-run seventh wicket partnership between Siddharth Verma (74 off 170 balls, including seven fours) and Joginder Sharma (38 off 51 balls, 6x4s, 1x6) brought Haryana closer to the Services first innings score. After that captain Amit Mishra and the tail-enders earned the lead for the visitors. For Services, Pankaj Kumar and Arun Sharma picked three wickets each. In the second innings, Services were 182 for 3, with M P Reddy (82) and Jasvir Singh (37) at the crease when stumps were drawn on day 3 of the match.
