More slams door on Ganguly

March 06, 2006 00:19 IST

Indicating that Sourav Ganguly is unlikely to play again for India, the chairman of the national selection committee Kiran More on Saturday said, "there was no question going back on the (Ganguly) issue".

"I am sticking to what I said in Baroda about Ganguly. We are looking forward and there's no question of looking back on the issue," More told reporters to a question on Ganguly's chances of staging a comeback.

More had said in Baroda where the squad for the first Test was announced that the present selection committee would not recall Ganguly.

The five selectors along with captain Rahul Dravid and coach Greg Chappell attended the meeting held soon after the first Test ended in a draw.
