A light training session for Sachin

Harish Kotian in Mumbai | May 10, 2006 12:59 IST

Sachin Tendulkar, who is recuperating from a shoulder surgery, had a light practice session on Wednesday at the Mumbai Cricket Association grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex.

Trainer Gregory King threw a few balls from mid-pitch to Tendulkar during a batting session that lasted around 30 minutes.

Bio-mechanist Ian Frazer was also present during the training session.

Fast bowler L Balaji, recovering from a back injury, also took part in the training session.

It is expected that Tendulkar would undergo further assessment before producing a fitness certificate before the Board on May 20.

The team for the four-Test series against the West Indies set to start on June 1 is expected to be chosen on May 22 or 23.
