Bangladesh axe Ashraful, Saleh for Zimbabwe games

Bangladesh axed opener Rajin Saleh and middle order batsman Mohammad Ashraful from a 13-man squad hosting Zimbabwe in one-day series starting later this month.

Batsman Tushar Imran has been recalled to the squad selected for the first three matches against Zimbabwe, who will play five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 match.

The first match will be played on November 30 in Khulna, following a Twenty20 match at the same venue two days earlier.

A 13-man squad for Twenty20 contest has also been announced, with two uncapped batsmen Nazmus Sadat and Nadif Chowdhury set to make their debuts. Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim and paceman Tapash Baisya have also been recalled.

"Rajin and Ashraful are not in form at the moment, so they have been dropped from the squad," chief selector Faruk Ahmed told reporters on Sunday.

Squad: Habibul Bashar (captain), Shahriar Nafees, Khaled Mashud, Mohammad Rafique, Tushar Imran, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Aftab Ahmed, Syed Rasel, Shahadat Hossain, Farhad Reja, Saqibul Hasan, Mehrab Hossain Jr.

Twenty20 squad: Shahriar Nafees (captain), Aftab Ahmed, Saqibul Hasan, Nazmus Sadat, Mohammad Rafique, Farhad Reja, Nadif Chowdhury, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shahadat Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tapash Baishya, Mehrab Hossain Jr.
