Himachal snatch a draw December 20, 2007 19:43 IST A well deserved century by A Mannu helped Himachal score 430 in their second innings as their four day Ranji Trophy Super League Group A match against Mumbai ended in a draw in Dharamsala on Thursday. With this draw, defending champions Mumbai gained three points while hosts Himachal picked up a single point. Mumbai are now third on the point table behind Saurashtra and Delhi with 18 points from their six mathes. Himachal, with five points, are languishing at second from bottom. Resuming at their overnight score of 236 for five, Himachal put up a spirited performance as A Mannu (103) led the lower-order fightback. He was ably supported by Sarandeep Singh as the duo put up 91 for the seventh wicket. After Mannu was dismissed by Nayar, A Thakur was joined by V Malik at the crease. The two tailenders frustuated the Mumbai bowlers for long periods before Malik was caught out off the bowling of S Kukreja, just two runs short of a well deserved century. Mumbai, needing 275 to win, started their second innings on a disastrous note when opener Kukreja was dismissed with just five runs on the board. A Rahane and V Indulkar then played out the remaining overs as Mumbai finished with 65 from 17 overs.
