Maharashtra pick first innings points January 05, 2007 20:39 IST Maharashtra declared their first innings at 450 for 9 to bag two points against Gujarat on the basis of the first innings lead, on the final day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Super League match against Gujarat at the Golf grounds in Nashik on Friday. S Sriram completed a century, which was inclusive of 12 fours and two sixes. He added the 122 runs but was run-out while trying to step up the scoring. Man Singh Nigade (53) also played a fine innings that included six boundaries and a six before being caught by Sahil Patel at mid-wicket off the bowling of Kirit Damani. S Sriram and Nigade added 134 runs for the fifth wicket. Captain Sairaj Bahutule scored 19 runs, inclusive of four boundaries. Gujarat seamer Ashraf Makda claimed five wickets conceding 125 runs, while Kirit Damani took two. In their second innings, Gujarat were 73 for the loss of Azhar Bilakhia's (30) wicket. The match was called off after the 36th over when it was heading for a draw. Modi was not out on 32 and Niraj Patel was unbeaten on six at the close of play.
