India elect to bat in first Test vs Bangladesh Harish Kotian in Chittagong | May 18, 2007 09:40 IST India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat against Bangladesh in the first Test at the Chittagong Divisional stadium, in Chittagong, on Friday. India left out V V S Laxman and Yuvraj Singh, opting to go in with five bowlers. Pacers V R V Singh and R P Singh were included in the eleven after Munaf Patel failed to pass a fitness test in the morning. Dinesh Karthik will open the innings with Wasim Jaffer, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni will don the wicketkeeper's gloves. For Bangladesh, 20-year-old Saqibul Hasan was been handed his Test debut.
