Sudeep Tyagi made a sensational debut as he claimed a ten-wicket haul to help Uttar Pradesh to an innings victory over hosts Orissa in the Ranji Trophy Super League at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Monday.

Tyagi followed up his 6 for 46 in the first innings with a 4 for 46 on the third day to bowl Orissa out for 222. Uttar Pradesh had posted a huge total of 448, taking a first innings lead of 232.

Earlier, Suresh Raina had led his team to a strong batting display with his maiden double hundred in the Ranji Trophy. Raina scored 203 from 217 balls and was well supported by all-rounder Piyush Chawla, who scored 69 runs.

Former champions Uttar Pradesh hence scooped all the five points on offer in the opening tie.
