Australia opening batsman Matthew Hayden [Images] will miss the remainder of the Test series against West Indies [Images] after failing to recover from an Achilles tendon injury, a team spokesman said on Wednesday.

Hayden, who missed the first Test won by Australia by 95 runs at Sabina Park in Kingston [Images] on Monday, will return home for treatment.

The second of the three-Test series starts in Antigua on Friday.
