Putting to rest all the speculations, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday said that the BCCI has assured them that India will go ahead with its tour of Pakistan in January next year.

According to PCB, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar has informed its neighbouring board chief Ijaz Butt that he had written to the Indian government for security clearance and a reply is expected in 10 to 12 days.

Suffering from huge money losses due to the postponement of the ICC Champions Trophy and Australia's tour this year, the PCB is heavily relying on the upcoming home series against India for the endorsements.

Apart from money, India's tour to Pakistan will also help the PCB to regain the confidence of other Test playing nations like Australia and South Africa for hosting the home series as well as the rescheduled Champions Trophy.

The ICC has also asserted that Pakistan's status as the venue for the coveted biennial tournament is heavily depended on a security assessment that will be conducted during India's tour that includes three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 from January 13 to February 19 next year.

Last week, the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council offered to host the series if concerns over security persist in Pakistan.

However, PCB chief executive officer Saleem Altaf said a neutral venue would be a worst-case scenario and that security arrangements for India's visit are already underway in Pakistan.
