Reliance makes academic move for better corporate law

Reliance Industries is endowing a chair for corporate law and governance at the National Law School of India University at Bangalore. The chair will be named the Reliance Professor of Corporate Law and Governance.

The Reliance Chair for Corporate Law and Governance will coordinate and manage studies, academic courses, training, curriculum development, publication, disseminantion of information and documentation pertaining to corporate laws and governance at the National Law School.

Apart from his normal academic responsibilities, the Reliance professor will also be responsible for organising conferences, seminars and consultative meetings, facilitating policy formulation and law reform in the area of corporate laws and governance.

He will undertake fundamental and sponsored research specially for and on behalf of Reliance. Apart from that, he will also conduct courses on law and practice on arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism for corporate executives.
