Andhra Bank gets new chairman

Andhra Bank has a new chairman in Thenkanidiyur Janardhan Anantha Ganiga, 59.

Ganiga holds the unique distinction of guiding the Rama Krishnapuram branch in New Delhi to 1,30,000 accounts -- a world record for any single branch.

Besides, he pioneered several new concepts in nationalised banking including special services for the aged and female clients.

He has over 40 years of experience in banking and several professional qualifications which helped him to begin a programme of social lending without sacrificing profitability.
