Email this report to a friend

The satellite television Zee Network, which has already diversified into news and education channels, is now entering the print medium.

Zee Telefilms has formed a new company with Deepak Shourie as operating partner and publisher for its entry into the print medium. Existing Zee publications like Zee Premiere and Cable Guide are also being transferred to this company. Shourie, who was until now executive president of The Hindustan Times, has also been given sweat equity and stock options.

When he joins Zee in September, Shourie will also be a member of Zee Network's proposed Strategic Affairs Committee.

After working in some business houses, Shourie had entered the print medium through India Today and was responsible for starting Music Today and also for the tie-up with Time magazine. He was later the founder president and publisher of outlook before his brief stint in the hindustan times.
