Hyundai Motor India has introduced the environment-friendly Euro II-compliant small car Santro in Madras.

Launching the car, company managing director Y S Kim said that Hyundai was committed to better technology and a pollution-free environment, much ahead of the time stipulated by the Supreme Court.

The company has already introduced Euro-I compliant vehicles. Company president A P Gandhi said Euro-I and Euro-II versions would be made available on customer demand.

Gandhi said the company also proposed to introduce 1500 cc diesel cars by October this year.

The first batch of six Euro II complaint cars were delivered to the doctors at the Madras Medical Mission.
