Fuel supply charges rationalised for IPP

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Janeshwar Mishra on Friday night announced major rationalisation in various charges proposed by oil companies for supply of fuels to independent power producers (IPP) through a comprehensive package developed by the oil companies as modern fuel supply agreement.

The package envisages reduction in the cost of generation of liquid fuel-based power and to encourage use of fuel oil.

Commitment charges have been reduced from the proposed Rs 1.6 million to Rs 900,000 for fuel oil-based power plants at coastal locations.
