Sharing her memories is Rufaida Javid, who studied with the late Nafisa Joseph.

Nafisa Joseph (Miss India Universe 1997) was my senior at Bishop Cotton's Girls High School, Bangalore.

She was in the 12th grade (arts section) at that time, and was part of the school choir. She always hung around with a large group of friends.

She was an average student and did not participate in extra-curricular activities.

I guess most of us didn't know she was a model until we saw her in the Miss India contest. She was just out of school then.
