I read Mr Diwanji's article and felt he has analysed the middle class well. The article also came at the right time. I too have felt the same way about the pathetic situation of the middle class.

To improve this situation politics should be looked upon positively by people who form opinions. Also parents should encourage children for the same. If today's politicians really wish well for the country, they should come publicly and talk about the positive aspects of politics. They should arouse interest in young minds and motivate them to pursue a career in principled and good politics.

This article was very good reading -- a change from the usual stuff on your site. I bet that 99 per cent of the 'readership' of your site are the 'so-called middle-class' Indian and NRIs (like myself).

So why not write more stuff that make sense to 99 per cent of the audience?

I was most impressed by the articles written by Amberish K Diwanji. What struck me most is the sincerity of his writing -- you know he speaks from the heart. His articles are written in simple but powerful English. Very rarely could I find the cynicism and total despondency that seems to permeate most articles written by Indian journalists nowadays.

I was happy to find that there still a few people who have a positive view of India's future. As a nation we haven't believed in ourselves in a long, long time. Endless self flagellation will only depress the soul of the country further.

I congratulate Rediff for obtaining the services of such a talented writer. Keep the good work coming.

Here we go again. Mr Diwanji's pet theories in print. I am almost tempted to think that this is a knee-jerk reaction to the feedback to his previous article.

For once, Mr D, you are right. We, Indians overseas, ARE of the middle- class. No, we do not despise politics. However, we do despise some politicians. We also despise people who, under the guise of 'journalism', write insufficiently researched articles.

We still love our motherland. We lament for her, that she should be burdened with the likes of you. Hopefully, one of these days, you will travel overseas and see the world the way it is. Who knows, it might even make you more rational!!
