He did it for 38 years, non-stop!

Fickle electoral politics has milked dry this once-prosperous dairyman. After 38 years of unsuccessful contests, Panna Lal Gujjar is now planning to quit.

The 80-year-old from Rajasthan's Kota used to own nearly 250 cattle way back in 1960, the year he entered the electoral arena through municipal council polls. He lost by a narrow margin.

Unfazed by the setback, he went on filing nominations for the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Year after year. But success was elusive.

Meanwhile, his assets eroded. Till he was left with just six cattle.

Today he goes around on an old cycle selling milk...
