What did Laloo do in jail?

During those hours of solitude spent in Beur jail, former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad found solace in prayers to the almighty.

''I am not a hypocrite. When I do my daily pooja I do it from the core of my heart. This gives me lot of solace, inner strength and peace of mind,'' the Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo told reporters in a reference to his three-month stint in jail.

''Even Lord Ram and Eklavya had their trials and tribulations as I have been undergoing now,'' he said.

''I was cut off from the whole world during the last few months,'' he said, adding the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre had ''hatched a conspiracy to prevent me from exposing their misdeeds. Fortunately, the judiciary came to my rescue by granting interim bail.''
