E-Mail this report to a friend

A correspondent in Bangalore

Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna Monday said his government will approach all demands made by sandalwood smuggler Veerappan with an open mind.

He was speaking here after meeting his Tamil Nadu counterpart M Karunanidhi in Madras, following the kidnapping of Kannada actor Rajakumar Sunday.

He said his talks with Karunanidhi were fruitful and an emissary would be sent by Tamil Nadu.

He told an all-party meeting that priority would be given to get Rajakumar released.

He added that a control room had been set up to monitor the situation.
