Ladakh seeks separation from J&K

The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council today unanimously passed a resolution at its general council meeting demanding ''separation'' from Jammu and Kashmir and the status of a Union territory.

The resolution, moved by Lamayaru constituency councillor Rigzin Spalbar, was seconded by Pheyang councillor Tashi Chhotak. It was passed unanimously by a voice vote, a statement issued on behalf of LAHDC chairman Thupstan Chhewang said.

The resolution was placed for discussion and adoption in the general council by Chhewang.
