Karnataka Opposition demands white paper on Rajakumar case

Our Correspondent in Bangalore

Following the safe release of Kannada film star Rajakumar, the Opposition in the Karnataka assembly has demanded a white paper on the kidnap drama and all that transpired in its wake.

Opposition leaders in the assembly said the government must now make public all the details of the sordid episode, including the contents of the audiocassettes sent by the bandit Veerappan at various stages of the crisis.

They also demanded the right to know the responses of the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments to the cassettes as well as all the communication exchanged between the two chief ministers.
