Swiss President Pascal Couchepin will arrive in New Delhi on November 6 on a week-long visit mainly aimed at consolidating bilateral relations in economic, trade and other areas.

During the visit, India and Switzerland will sign two agreements -- one on cooperation in disaster management and the other on cooperation in science and technology.

New Delhi is attaching special significance to the visit. The last presidential visit from Switzerland was by Flavio Cotti in 1998.

Couchepin will call on President A P J Abdul Kalam and have wide-ranging discussions with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the entire range of bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern.

He will also have meetings with Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani and External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha.
