Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday met with China's top military leaders, including chairman of the Central Military Commission Jiang Zemin, and discussed bilateral ties as well as the situation in South Asia.

Musharraf, on a three-day state visit to China, also met Chinese Defence Minister Cao Gangchuan and discussed issues of common concern.

Musharraf had official talks with Chinese president and General Secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China Hu Jintao and signed a first-ever joint declaration on bilateral ties.

On Tuesday he met Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, parliamentary chief Wu Bangguo as well as the head of the top advisory body Jia Qinglin.

The new Chinese leadership assured Musharraf that Beijing would make further efforts to cement the Sino-Pakistani 'all weather' relationship despite the twist and turns in international relations.

Musharraf is scheduled to leave Beijing for the South Korean capital, Seoul later in the afternoon.
