If the news is about Bihar, it can be depressing at most times.

It is a state where it is often hard to tell politicians and criminals apart; a state where doctors and other professionals are routinely abducted and killed; a province where criminals hold parties in jail; a region where people are routinely massacred.

In fact, there is a good chance that even if you are passing through the state in a train, you will get a taste of Bihar's danda raaj.

Bihar represents everything that a state in the Indian Union shouldn't be, and presiding over all this chaos is Lalu Prasad Yadav, India's railway minister, and his wife Chief Minister Rabri Devi.

On Tuesday, the Patna high court grimly observed: 'The situation appears to have gone beyond control.'

On Wednesday, the court sent the Bihar military police to search all the jails in the state and confiscate prohibited items, like cell phones, from the inmates.

So, is there no hope for Bihar?

We invite readers -- especially natives of a state that once produced ancient titans like Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya and modern day icons like Rajendra Prasad and Jayaprakash Narayan -- to tell us about their experiences in Bihar, and send in ideas on what can be done to improve the situation in the state, which is probably the richest in natural resources in the country.

Tell us how Bihar can be made great again..
