Mumbai family worst hit by Pahalgam attack

For a Mumbai family, a summer vacation at the hill resort of Pahalgam ended in tragedy as three of its members were killed and another critically injured in the grenade attack on Saturday.

Bhavesh along with his son Ratik (10) and daughter Neelu (8) were among the five persons killed while his wife Rupal was among the injured undergoing treatment in a hospital in Srinagar.

The toll increased to five with the death of another child on Sunday.

The bodies of the deceased were dispatched to their native places, an official spokesman said.

The injured still undergoing treatment are Anand Jain of Rajasthan at the Soura Institute, Rupal and Mohammad Jamal of Pahalgam at SHMS Hospital.

Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed visited tourist spots and reassured visitors about their safety.

Tourism Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir visited Pahalgam and took stock of security measures.

Tourist inflow to the valley continued unabated as over 2,300 arrived in Srinagar on Sunday.
