Swelling the list of Pakistani children cured by Indian doctors, a team of physicians in Delhi has successfully operated on a girl from Karachi, suffering from a rare 'cardiac disorder'.
Seven-year-old Quartulain, who was suffering from a rare disorder wherein her heart was situated towards the right side of chest and could not properly pump blood to lungs, was operated recently.
"When Quartulain came to us her lips and nails were blue due to lack of oxygen in her blood. In view of this low saturation, any surgery performed on her was considered to be of very high risk," says Dr M Khalilullah who treated her.
"Rather than performing surgery, we used intervention technique and dilated the duct that carried blood from her heart to the lungs which in itself is a miracle," Khalilullah said.
Elated over Quartulain's recovery, her father Fakhr Hussain said, "I am very happy that after seven years finally my daughter is normal and healthy."
He said quick visas should be issued on medical grounds.
