The Bihar government has banned display of offensive cartoons in Durga puja pandals in capital Patna. Puja organisers have been warned that violaters will invite strict legal action.
A notice published by the state's information and public relations department and signed by Patna district magistrate Gautam Goswami and senior superintendent of police N H Khan in local dailies on Wednesday said that the move was initiated to prevent communal problems.
The advertisement stated that people had in the past put up caricatures targetting other communities.
