A 10-year-old girl's mother has sought the intervention of the Delhi high court against the decision of a south Delhi school to remove her child for "violent behaviour".
The school had struck the name of the girl off the rolls on October 6 for showing "erratic, violent and disruptive behaviour".
In her petition filed through counsel Ashok Agrawal, the mother denied the charges levelled by the school and urged the court to direct the school to take back her child.
The petitioner claimed that the decision was taken as she had been opposing the school's decision to withdraw her child from regular classes and put her in a learning centre meant for physically and mentally challenged children.
The petition came up for hearing on Friday before Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, who refused to hear the same saying it should go to a bench dealing with cases related to education.
The mother said she moved the court as the school did not pay any heed to her request to withdraw her daughter from the learning centre and allow her to attend regular classes.
Doctors of VIMHANS hospital had opined that the child was perfectly fit, she said, adding that the school was doing this to justify the grants received for the learning centre.
