Less than a day after Samajwadi Party MLC Ajit Singh's murder, a student leader of the Lucknow University was shot dead in Hussainganj area in the state capital on Sunday night.

The son of a local Samajwadi Party leader has been named in the FIR as an accused, police said on Monday.

Saheb Shukla was shot dead near his residence. A dispute over money is suspected to be the reason behind the killing.

These two cases have once again brought the crime scenario in Uttar Pradesh to the limelight. Incidentally, a ruling Samajwadi Party MLA is the main accused in Ajit Singh's murder.
