Rejecting the Punjab police's request for a transit remand of Babbar Khalsa International chief Jagtar Singh Hawara, prime accused in the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, a local court extended his judicial custody on Wednesday.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Neerja K Kalson declined the request of the counsel representing the Punjab police. The police  were seeking Hawara's custody in a blast case in January this year, allegedly aimed at eliminating Baba Piara Singh Bhaniarawala, a sect leader.
