Union Steel Minister and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan has ruled out any alliance with United Progressive Alliance ally Rashtriya Janata Dal in next assembly polls likely in October-November 2005.
Giving a setback to Congress as well as Communist Party of India-Marxist strategy for a united UPA alliance against Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in the polls, Paswan said his party would not have any electoral alliance with the RJD in Bihar.
Paswan ,while addressing a party workers' meeting, the first since he suffered a mild heart attack last month, announced that the LJP is not going to tie up with either the RJD or the NDA.
He predicted a direct contest between the LJP and NDA in the polls, and claimed that Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD would be relegated to the third position.
Paswan also asserted that his party would make no compromise on the issue of a Muslim as chief minister.
Paswan announced his party would launch a 'Bhaichara Yatra' from Gaya on August 13 to promote harmony.
