The Pakistan floods

In February 2005, Pakistan saw its worst deluge in about 16 years. Heavy snowfall and avalanches in the north and two weeks of heavy rains and flash floods in the south western regions of the country broke dams and washed away entire villages.

More than 420 people were killed and millions affected.
