Former Union minister and Janata Dal-United president George Fernandes Saturday underwent a successful neurosurgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
Fernandes, who had been admitted to the AIIMS on December 6 after he complained of sustained headache, was operated upon to remove fluid accumulated in the brain, JD-U general secretary Shambhu Shrivastava told PTI.
The former defence minister is doing fine and recovering well, he said.
Fernandes will remain in hospital for a few days.
