Kashmir will not be compromised: Musharraf

K J M Varma | February 05, 2005 17:52 IST

"Kashmir will not be compromised at any cost," Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said in a message read out at a special session of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir Assembly at Muzzafarabad on Saturday to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

He said that Kashmir is Pakistan's 'vital national interest'.

"Pakistan would only accept a solution of Kashmir issue which is in line with the aspirations of Kashmiris and acceptable to them," Musharraf said.

He added that Pakistan "will continue to provide political, diplomatic and morale support to the cause of Kashmiris."

"We have made it clear to the Indian leadership and other world leaders that the dialogue process will not move ahead if the Kashmir problem is not resolved," Musharraf said.
