Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has expressed his opposition to the forthcoming cricket series between India and Pakistan.

"I still maintain my stand that we should not invite Pakistan," he told media persons in Mumbai on Wednesday.

He said all those who wanted to play against Pakistan were "shameless".

The Pakistan team, which will be playing in India after a gap of six years, is scheduled to arrive in the country on February 25 to play three Tests and five One Day Internationals.

Shiv Sena activists had recently damaged the pitch at Mohali, in Chandigarh, which is scheduled to host one of the three Test matches.

The act was apparently committed on the bidding of the Sena chief.
