Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Thursday expressed concern over the law and order situation in Delhi following the gang rape of a 23-year-old woman in a moving car on Wednesday.

Patil summoned Police Commissioner K K Paul and discussed the situation with him.

Union Home Secretary V K Duggal was also present.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Paul admitted that Wednesday's rape also figured in the discussion.

Asked if the suspects in the Dhaula Kuan rape case might be involved in Wednesday's rape, Paul said it was very premature to say anything.

"We have vital clues in the case. We will nab the culprits soon," he said.

Home ministry sources said the case has been transferred to the crime branch and that all the city police stations have been asked to assist them in investigations.

They said a sketch of one of the suspects has been released.

They added that the meeting was not to pull up the police. It was to review law and order in the city and also discuss the security arrangement for Independence Day celebrations.
