Monsoon session: A stormy Parliament

The smile on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's face says a lot.

He is just back from a very successful trip to the United States, but the smile may not stay for long with the begining of the monsoon Parliamentary session on Monday. The session is expected to be a stormy affair.

The National Democratic Alliance held a meeting on Sunday at former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's residence to decide its strategy in the Parliament session.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee called an all-party meeting to iron out seemingly irreconcilable differences between the government and the opposition.

Dr Singh' speech in the UK, the nuclear deal in the US, the Illegal Migrants Determination of Tribunals Act will all come under the opposition's scanner in this session. The NDA plans to bring about a censure motion against the PM.

Here's to the beginning of walk-outs, adjournments, mud-slinging and lots of noise inside and outside Parliament.
