Rashtriya Janata Dal party chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, a day after his party demanded National Democratic Alliance convenor George Fernandes' arrest for making 'threatening remarks' against Sonia.

"Nothing serious. We just exchanged views on the political situation in Bihar," Lalu said after the meeting at Gandhi's Parliament House office.

He also met Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel, but declined to say what was discussed.

Both houses of Parliament on Thursday witnessed noisy scenes with angry RJD members demanding the arrest of Fernandes.

Fernandes had reportedly accused Gandhi of functioning in a 'dictatorial' manner. She would meet the same fate as that of late prime minister Indira Gandhi after the Emergency in the late 1980s, he had said.
