Mumbai's Chhattrapati Shivaji Terminus has been included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's World Heritage List.

UNESCO's officer-in-charge in New Delhi presented the certificate to the chairman of the Railway Board at a ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The UNESCO listed CST at its meeting at Suzhou in China in June, 2004.

British architect F W Stevens designed the building in Victorian style well aided by traditional Indian themes in 1878.

The structure, which took nearly 10 years for completion, gave the 19th Century Mumbai its gothic city look.
