Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former union minister Ravishankar Prasad, who was injured in Thursday's attack at an election rally, is being shifted to Delhi for treatment.

His assailant Munna Rai alias Hulchul Rai is still in a coma and battling for survival.

"Prasad's condition is stable and there is no cause for alarm," Dr Narendra Prasad, the surgeon attending on him at a private nursing home told PTI.

He said the BJP leader, who had received gunshot injury in his left arm, had suffered multiple fractures and doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi would decide on the future course of treatment.

Meanwhile, Patna Medical College and Hospital deputy superintendent, Ashok Singh, said a CT scan was performed on Munna Rai this morning to ascertain the exact extent of injury and the report was still awaited.
