Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Tuesday called for an urgent meeting of officers from Research and Analysis Wing, the Intelligence Bureau, armed forces and other ministry officials following the assassination of Jammu and Kashmir's Education Minister Gulam Nabi Lone in Srinagar.

"The meeting has been called to review law and order situation in the valley but the meeting will also review the relief and rehabilitation programmes as the disaster management group also operates under home ministry and the state government has been pressing for more tents and supply of other relief materials," a home ministry official said.

Meanwhile, JK Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is likely to call a meeting of the unified command to take stock of the situation following a sudden spurt in terrorist activities where army personnel have been targeted by the terrorists wanting to establish their identity at a time when the state is united in helping the earth quake victims.
